CHEZ GRACIAS MADRE, San Francisco: Mushroom & Calabaza Tacos on Heirloom Non-GMO corn tortillas with cashew drizzle and a side of vegan “refried” beans. (These tortillas really hit the spot.)

CHEZ CAFE DES AMIS, San Francisco: Spring Carrot Soup with Medjool Dates and Toasted Almonds. Slight smoke compliments the sweet notes and depth of an unexpectedly sumptuous soup.

Apple Huckleberry Pie with Aged Cheddar Crust and Apple Huckleberry Balsamic. (sweet end to good time w/ KD, BD, RP & MR.)

CHEZ WEXLER’S, San Francisco: BBQ King Trumpet Mushrooms,
Garnet Yam Purée, Collard Greens, Tomato Molasses Vinaigrette. Smoky, sweet & salty combine for a perfect bite.

Another cheater shot- Yours truly with Patricia Bragg. We have a slew of Braggs products in our house, so it was fun to meet her at Expo West.

This is a cheater shot - no food involved but I was stoked to meet Garden of Life founder Jordan Rubin at Expo West

CHEZ DIN TAI FUNG, Arcadia:
Chicken Dumplings.

Worth the drive, these dumplings reminded me a bit of soup dumplings. We ate our way through the menu and watched them make dumplings from scratch. (Expo West eats 2012)
